Igbo Monarch Calls For Unity In Fight Against Insecurity

HRH Eze Sunny Chinwuba Williams, the Eze Eziokwu Bu Ndu II of Ndigbo in Oyigbo, has called on all Nigerians to unite in the fight against the escalating insecurity plaguing the country.

The Igbo monarch, who spoke with CREEK METRO last weekend in Port Harcourt, emphasized that no single ethnic group or region can effectively combat the threats posed by banditry, kidnapping, and inter-communal violence on its own.

“Security is a collective burden,” Eze Williams stated. “We must set aside our differences and work hand-in-hand with security agencies, community leaders, and the government. Division only weakens our resolve and gives room for criminals to thrive.”

The monarch specifically urged young people not to allow themselves to be exploited for destructive ends, while calling on federal and state governments to resolutely combat insecurity and to expose and prosecute the sponsors of terrorism, whoever they may be.

“We cannot afford to be spectators in our own land,” he told Creek Metro. “Every citizen whether farmer, trader, or civil servant has a role to play in reporting suspicious activities and promoting dialogue over conflict.”

He said, “If we fail to unite now, the cost will be far greater than any of us can bear.”
