Nigerian Army Targets Fleeing Biafra Fighter

The Nigerian Army has issued a wanted notice for Ifeanyi Eze better known by the alias “Gentle De Yahoo” and offered a 30-million-naira reward for his capture, following his reappearance after he had previously been reported as captured.

A native of Imo State in southeastern Nigeria, Eze is identified by the army as a commander of the Biafra Liberation Army in Okigwe. This group is linked to a faction of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) movement associated with Simon Ekpa, a Finland-based agitator.

Troops deployed under Operation Udo Ka had previously announced Eze's “capture” during operations in Imo State between October 8 and 13, 2025. His reappearance in January 2026 prompted this new wanted notice, which bears the logos of the Nigerian Army and the joint security team.

Authorities implicate him in deadly attacks within the Okigwe Local Government Area, including the killing of some of his own fighters; they are urging anyone with information on his whereabouts to come forward, while offering the option to do so anonymously.
