The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has reiterated that its lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, has indeed been dismissed, stating that any media outlet associating him with the group from now on will face legal action.
In a statement sent to Creek Metro, IPOB spokesperson Emma Powerful declared that the only recognized lawyer and legal team are those appointed by Nnamdi Kanu.
This stance follows criticism from Ejiofor regarding IPOB's threat to call for a boycott of the 2027 elections if Nnamdi Kanu is not released from prison.
“Nnamdi Kanu debriefed and sacked Mr. Ejiofor for gross incompetence and professional misconduct specifically, for mishandling our leader's case and allowing an impermissible civil stay to be used to overturn a criminal discharge,” said Emma Powerful.
He said, “Since his dismissal, Mr. Ejiofor has hired himself out to enemies of our leader and has been appearing to advocate for interest groups working against the release of Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. He does not speak for us. He does not represent us. He is an impostor”.
He warned that, “Any media house that publishes or refers to Ifeanyi Ejiofor as IPOB counsel will be made to face the full wrath of the law.”
