Biafra: IPOB Considers Dialogue for Nnamdi Kanu's Release

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) is considering entering into dialogue with the Nigerian federal government to secure the release of its imprisoned leader, Nnamdi Kanu, a security source said on Friday.
Speaking to Creek Metro, the source revealed that steps are being taken to reach a political solution regarding the detained separatist leader, who was sentenced to life imprisonment for advocating Biafran independence.
“IPOB is now considering dialogue with the government,” the source stated, though noting that previous attempts at dialogue had failed.
Contacted by phone, a source close to the family declined to comment on the reports but confirmed that efforts are being made “at both local and international levels” to secure the IPOB leader's release.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian government has rejected calls for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, who is currently being held in a prison in Sokoto State.
